Apple-sage-maple pork sausages, flat iron steak, asparagus, strawberries, apples, batard of white bread, chicken empanada, white potatoes, bunch of watercress.

Making green chile chicken taco stuffing -- the apartment smells wonderful.

I planted some alpine strawberry seeds today -- who knows if they'll come up or not. I'm thinking about getting more marigolds and drying the spent flowers for dyestuff -- interested, [personal profile] twistedchick? I understand you can get soft yellows from marigold. I transplanted a few of the zinger hibiscus today, and when the rest of them get big enough, I'll transplant them too. I wonder if you can get dyestuff out of hibiscus, since my hibiscus aqua fresca recipe winds up so vivid. This evening, I'll bring in the tomato, the basil, the hyssop seedlings, and the marigolds.

Definitely interested (be sure to keep them in the dark to avoid fading) for dyeing, as well as for insect repellent. Hibiscus? Probably a soft pink. Not sure. Remind me later and I'll look it up.
