Farmer's Market -- 8 April 12
Apr. 8th, 2012 12:47 pmPink lady apples, chicken empanada, batard of white bread, plants: 1 pennyroyal, 2 Corsican mint, 1 pineapple sage, 2 snapdragons, 1 winter thyme, 1 compact Genovese basil (which is staying indoor at night for a few more weeks). Also picked up two marigolds and a Labrador violet from the hardware store, and a long box.
Transfered the celery to a bigger pot filled with the special organic potting mix that is very luscious and black. I hope they do well. I will probably try starting the peas today or tomorrow, since they are plumping out and should start germinating now that they've been wetted. I was tempted to get a potted Mexican oregano yesterday at the co-op. They're a bit of a specialty plant, and I'm not sure if I have enough sun.
I may make chives-and-cheese soup this afternoon, but mostly I'm going to relax and rest -- I had a muscle spasm in my right shoulder at the market this morning that was absolutely no fun.
