I bought a tiny flat (4-plots) of a mesclun seedlings this afternoon at the co-op today, halved them, and planted them in a long box today. Along with the swiss chard and the celery (which is growing enormously fast), I'm hoping to have a good mix of greens this year.

I also planted pepper, anise, hibiscus, alpine strawberry, and pea seeds today. We'll see if anything comes of them, but I'm hoping for a few to germinate and then I can transplant them.

Your entire below ground level patio area must be full of pots and planters by now. All I have is rosemary, thyme and lavender which grow well here and don't care about watering and rain, which is good as it isn't raining much again. We are ahead for the year and only in moderate drought right now. That will change if it doesn't rain again. John had about 4 inches last week when tornadoes went through the DFW area but we got less than .25 inch from the same storm system.
