First my camera, now my blender...

I may be able to get it repaired, but the likelihood, given that it's out of warranty is that it will cost more to repair than to replace. I'm going to see about getting a cheap immersion blender in the morning and look at getting a heavy-duty countertop blender later i the week. I looked at the Good Housekeeping blender ratings and the best value for price seems to be the Cuisnart PowerEdge 700 Watt blender.

Interesting. I have had mine for over 45 years and it works fine. Replaced the blade and seal and locking ring. Need a new lid insert but can't find one. Probably still works because it is not electronic or computerized. See if you can find one that has metal parts as much as possible. Had to replace mixer because circuit board overheated. Bought an older one on ebay. Motor is only 350 watts, not 450 as newer ones but doesn't have electronic parts. Do you want me to look for one on ebay?
