Farmer's market-- 24 April 11 (Easter Sunday)

Eggs, pink lady apples, 2.75 lb bison brisket, batard of white bread, cheese danish, chicken empanada, annual lavendar plants, Sweet 100 cherry tomato plant, Russian Persimmon tomato plant.

I'm trying lavender again, but this time an annual varietal so when it dies, it's a natural death and not the fact that I can't keep a lavender going in my apartment over winter because the light gets so bad. I plan on getting more tomatoes and herbs at Maryland Sheep and Wool in two weeks -- anyone else planning on attending?

Having farmer's market apples nearly year-round has spoiled me for grocery-store apples. In the months that apples aren't available at my market (most of the summer), I just do without.

But when apples aren't available you get all the soft fruits - peaches, plums, berries, etc. So enjoy those when they come.
