Talked to one of the neighbors this evening as I was throwing out my kitchen trash.

Is sock-knitting such an intimidating task for most knitters? I find socks kind of soothing as projects go, and they're certainly one of the most portable ones I could do.

I've only made one pair of socks, and I was able to do them on circulars. And while I don't totally hate DPNs, I do get more confused while using them.

I think that, for many people, it seems intimidating until it's been done a couple of times. Most folks I know who felt intimidated by the idea but have tried it anyway go on to love sock knitting.
