Bacon of the Gods

One of the new vendors, North Mountain Pastures, was selling guanciale at the market today. I tasted it -- it is Bacon of the Gods. I'm going to make spaghetti carbonara and eat like a king this week.

They also have a meat CSA -- perhaps that would work if I could get a couple of people to go in with me... because I certainly don't need even three chickens a month, or 5 pounds assorted of beef, pork, chicken and lamb...

I'm kind of interested, depending on the kind of meat, and how much we'd get, and how it comes out for the price per pound. The chicken prices sound far too high to me, though. I'd be more inclined to be interested in the five pounds assorted, depending on what it is.

You can ask them at the market. They do seem to have an assortment of things, including some really tasty sausage.

I'm thinking of signing up for the 2-month plan, to see if I like what I get without committing for the whole summer.
