sweet potato greens pan steaming

Following [personal profile] ellen_fremedon's advice, I pan-steamed some sweet potato greens I bought at market. I'm not sure if I did a good job with them, though. They certainly didn't taste much like sweet potatoes to me -- which is what the seller said would happen after they were cooked. They tasted likes steamed greens -- kind of vegative, not sweet, though not noticeably bitter either.

I am trying to eat dark leafy greens more often, but I don't actually enjoy the taste of most of them -- it's the vegatable equivalent of eating saltines, as far as I can tell -- you eat it to carry something that tastes better, like cheese or sauce. Spinach and chard are good in soups, but that's about it... :sigh:

Maybe I should buy a set of test strips and figure out if I'm a super-taster or not; it'd be nice to know if it's just my quirky body, or what...
