I went to the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival yesterday with ![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
temve. It rained most of the day, and the ground was so saturated it squelched underfoot; it did mean that we got to park in the lower field and the festival was comparatively not crowded.
All the vendors were in tents with the flaps down due to the rain, so it did make it hard to spot things; however, the program had a section organized by kind of shop, which was helpful at the end of the day when I was trying to find a weaving shop I hadn't already looked at because I was hoping to find small tablet-weaving cards. (I didn't, but I can look on etsy next month if I still want them).
There were at least 4 empty booths in the main barn, which shouldn't have surprised me as much as it did. We are still in a pandemic, even if it's the trailing edge of one
I bought:
We had candied pecans to snack on and then lamb sausage from the Boy Scouts for lunch. Tem picked up some merguez sausage and I bought a pound of cubed lamb, and then we called it a day because it was damp and muddy even when it wasn't raining.

- Perennial sock from Kelbourne Woolens in black and 5 neon colors (micro skeins) for Sanquhar gloves
- BFF BFL DK weight wool yarn from Ewetopia in sumac, dark plum (both for the Faux Braid Brioche scarf), and a 5 mini skein labeled ‘sunflowers’ (chocolate, medium brown, dark plum, sumac, tawny yellow) for the Inspire mitts pattern
- Twinkle in black from Stunning Strings Studio for Bent Op Art shawl (to contrast with the Orion from Fully Spun that I already had
- Bare Feet Sock from At Haynes House Yarns in Austen Lines: Most Determined Flirt (pale orange) for Duck baby booties (local dye studio! from Ft Washington, MD)
- the 'spACE in the place' hat kit from Shirtsy Cat Designs
- A sheep hat kit and an I'll Pack a Cowl to Rhinebeck from Knitting on the Fringe
- Assigned Pooling from Cozy Color Works in color 10 for the Calico shawl. I almost bought color 15, which looks like sort of like bluebonnets knit up; if I like the pattern, maybe I'll buy it to do a second shawl, or maybe try one of the other Dawn Barker pooling patterns
- an Addi 000 circular (for sock heels) and a Kollage square-tip size 3 circular
