Heels on toe-ups

I've gotten past the heels on my Biological Clock toe-up socks, but I'm not that impressed with the results. I've wound up with rather square heels, and the gusset stitches are loose.

Also, the pattern can't decide whether there should be 30 or 31 stitches on the heel and instep after finishing the heels. I had to do a M1 to even up the numbers.
