Forethought heels...
Apr. 30th, 2009 10:30 pmI finally tried the forethought heels (aka in-place afterthought heels) for my Chevron/self-striping socks from Sensational Knitted Socks.
I don't like it -- this is the second time I've tried an afterthought heel, and I'm not even finished with this attempt, and I can tell I'll never use this technique again if I can help it.
I didn't like how sloppy it left the heel the first time I tried it, and this time it's almost impossible to knit two sock on two circs (my preferred method of sock knitting) and do this heel.
Next time, I'm substituting a short-row heel, or a half-hankercheif, or even a round heel -- this is just too much trouble for too little a result.
