Farmer's Market -- 05 Nov 11

Batard of white bread, pink lady apples, red bartlett pears, small pumpkin, red bell pepper quark, green onions, and weisswurst.

I've asked about turkeys for Thanksgiving, but the smallest one that I might be able to get seem to be 10 pounds or over, which seems like a lot of meat for what might wind up being 3 to 5 people...

About 8-10 lbs is good for two people with leftovers and soup to come; 10-12 is good for 3-5 ppl. if you don't want lots of leftovers. I have cooked a 19-lb turkey for what was supposed to be six people (ended up four with appetites) and we had leftovers for a looooong time plus two batches of soup (because the carcass was too big to fit into the soup pot in one piece and got frozen and hacked apart.)
