Mini Mochi displeases me...

I'm knitting the Jasmine mitts with Crystal Palace Mini-Mochi (color 101, Intense Rainbow), and since I'm 2/3rds of the way done with the second mitt I find a knot in the yarn.

A knot tying orange to *green*.

Needless to say, *that* will ruin the color progression like a ruin-y thing.

I might be able to salvage things by frogging the mitt completely, turning the yarn around, and knitting it in the other directions, because I cast on at greenish blue.

But this does disrupt my plans to make the niece socks out of Crash Into Ewe's Jewel sock yarn (in Pink Tourmaline). Admittedly, she does wear almost the exact size of shoe I do, so I can finish up the Simplicity Socks and have them ready to give if I can't get the pink socks done in time

That's vexing.

Augh, a knot! That happens in Kureyon sometimes, too.

Me, I just knit it anyway and find I still like the results, but obviously YMMV.

Oh, I get you. Yeah. Very uncool. Can you, I don't know, wind off the yarn until you get to the next correct color, you know, a spot where you can splice it with less obviousness, and save the mis-sequenced section for extras?

I'm glad I'm not the only one with Kureyon problems. Every single skein of Noro I've ever bought had a knot.

Your icon actually made me hoot. I find it humorous that ZQ is the new Spock (and by all accounts an excellent one), because he looks so vacant in half the pics I've seen. Poor (cute) kid.

I was wearing my Kureyon sweater today (a Rosedale United!) and thought I felt a giant pill or snag or something. I went to feel for what it was and it was a knot. HAW!

I want to do indecent things to that man, it is actually rather embarrassing how smitten I am. XD

AND SEE? Knots! I have found that the only Noro I can stand is Silk Garden Sock. I've only bought one skein, but it's the least knotty of them all, and the color progressions make sense (except the beginning which was teal then orange, which mixes to become vomit). I just have no patience to knit anything in fingering weight yarn right now, so it's just a pretty little ball on the desk.

You know what's satisfying? Knitting something in Noro and as soon as you BO or put it away, knitting with Malabrigo. Or, y'know, just touching Malabrigo.

Ha! Malabrigo is pretty GQMF. I got a gorgeous hank of Kureyon Sock and it just, WTF. The color progression is so odd. The first sock is basically this horrible peach color, which would have been fine if it was, like, mixed with other colors. But no, half a sock was like that.

I've since frogged the whole mess since knitting it on 1s was killing my hands, but on 2s I wouldn't trust it to hold. Alas. I might make mitts or something out of it, the pattern I'm contemplating is knit on 3s. Should be nice.

I have tried so many projects with Silk Garden Sock and none of them have left me impressed. I tried the Jaywalker socks and they were too tight and a good third of the sock was yellow, just yellow. I tried Endpaper Mitts but couldn't get gauge. I think I'm just going to do a chevron scarf and be done with it. I like my Noro Striped Scarf and I guess it set me up for disappointment with other projects done with Noro.

I hope you don't mind if I add you. You know what GQMF means and reading your userinfo makes me think I'm reading my own journal (slashfic, yarn, and librarianship, holla!)

*grin* No, it sounds fun. Good times!
