The best thing about summer...

besides temperatures where I don't ache all the time, is the way there is such an amazing seasonal variety at the farmer's market.

For example,



They are now pureed and added to an ice cream base. After chilling overnight, I'll make it tomorrow and it will be *spendid*.

I also have strawberries, yellow cherries, apricots, and nectarines.

You do realize how fortunate you are to live within walking distance of such a market in a part of the country that can produce such goods locally. We are having awful weather, though I understand there was some rain today. That does little to alleviate a drought that is now in month 22 or so and rated severe.

Why do you think I picked this apartment? There are cheaper places around, some of which are even walking distance to the Metro.
