I must have miscalculated somewhere, since I'm rapidly approaching the end of [personal profile] sanj's sweater and even more rapidly running out of yarn. I was sure I ordered more yarn than the pattern called for, just to hedge against such a situation, but somehow, I don't seem to have enough. I'm now asking around on Ravelry to see if people with the correct color of the yarn are willing to sell me extras out of their stash.

This means [personal profile] sanj's sweater is on hold for the moment, while I work on some Fetching mitts for my aunt. I'm also looking at my stash and wondering if she, or anyone in the family, would like a Sariel shawl in Indiecita colorway from Malabrigo. Photos don't do justice to how pretty the colorway is -- it's got a lovely shimmery quality, like the mist rainbow from a waterfall.

I'm also looking at starting some more Baby Alligator scarves for my baby cousins -- I'll have to pick out colors -- and eventually start the Icarus shawl for [personal profile] sanj, since I have the 1000 yards of cobweb-weight she bought for it before she moved north. Fortunately, it's top-down, so if I begin to run out of yarn, I can just rip back and make it a little shorter.

I'm also looking at purchasing the Eyjafjallajökull and Irtfa'a patterns for myself

I finished my Archangel of Mass Transit shawl -- actually, it's the Sariel shawl by Corrine Ferguson, and it's well worth $6 to have the pattern.

Seriously, this was a fun shawl to knit )I'm using the leftover yarn to make another Van Ness crocheted scarf, which looks fairly spectacular in a multicolor like Malabrigo Silky in the 'archangel' colorway.

I'm also finishing up my Ringwood gloves in Malabrigo Worsted in 'snowbird' -- they're incredibly comfortable, and about 75% finished.

Next up -- Baby Alligator scarf in Cascade Sierra in a bright yellow-green (color 48). If I have to make it shorter because the yardage isn't perfect, I don't think it will matter much, since I'm making it for a baby.

I've finished the center panel of the Lost Points shawl I'm making for [livejournal.com profile] nugatorytm

Shiny, but floppy )

From now on, it's just circular knitting and increases.

It looks like I'll be able to get at least two rows done every time I ride the bus (300 stitches per 40 minutes), so I may have the center panel done in a week or so...

the Lost Points shawl for [personal profile] nugatorytm. It went on okay, and think I've got the trick to knit with railroad novelty yarn... we'll see how well this works as a public-transit safe project...

Cast on a swatch for the Lost Point shawl today -- it looks like I'm going to be using size 6s, which are as usual, two sizes down from the pattern suggestions.

Went to [personal profile] synecdochic's Stitch n Bitch with [personal profile] hilarytamar, [personal profile] zvi, and [personal profile] squirelawrence (hurray for Zipcars!). I brought a bunch of donut peaches, but there was a ton of food already.

I'm finished on the first goldfish sock, except for the grafting, and I tried a gauge swatch for the Lost Points shawl -- I'm going down to size 6 needles and trying again tomorrow.

I'm going to ask for the recipe for the polenta fries, since they were pretty good and seem like excellent party food.

It's in the 80 (Fahrenheit) today, so I need to start prioritizing my summer knitting and organize the yarn for the various projects.

I have two scarves to finish and four different pairs of cotton blend socks and a bamboo shawl project to start:

Steve's Muffler -- just one more ball to finish the scarf
Red Tunisian Ascot -- rip it out and start over with a larger hook, and possibly another repeat of the pattern.
Lost Points shawl with SWTC Melody and Bamboo
Hydrangea socks in Patons Stretch
Plain socks in Regia Cotton Tip & Top
Koi in Regia Cotton Java
Chevron in Regia Cotton Surf with a V-heel instead of the 'forethought' heel. It won't look as nifty, but it will fit better.

This is still unlikely to keep me busy during the entire summer, which stretches from mid-May to mid-September at the least.
